Ashton Historical Society -

Our Past Informs Our Future!

Our mission is to preserve town history by making the community aware of the connection of the past to the future. We do this by identifying the writing, buildings, natural wonders and ideas that made Ashton what it is and ensuring that those who come after us will be able to have access to them.

Announcements

Annual Meeting Friday, Jan 30th, 7:00 PM at Town Hall
Entries for the Historical Book Project are due by the end of November!
Special Barn Meeting Wednesday, November 19th at Sanford's Barn

The Association seeks to preserve town heritage by renewing our knowledge, discovering and preserving artifacts and documenting life as we knew it.
We have done a great deal since our first meeting in 1963. Our first major project was the acquisition and restoration of the Stanford Cider Mill. We have a small collection of manuscripts and personal effects that is housed at the library and we are looking forward to our new home, in the new wing, to be finished in the next few months.
We invite all interested people to come to our meetings, enjoy the annual Thanksgiving Street Walk and help us to keep the history of our town fresh and alive!
